What is a megabyte (Mb)?

User Rating:  / 0
A measure of computer memory equal to 1,048,576 bytes, each of which in turn is equal to eight bits, which is the smallest unit of data in the digital system and is symbolised by the number 1 or the number 0. A unit of data storage equal to approximately one thousand kilobytes, or one million bytes. As with other units of mass data storage, the precise size of a megabyte is expressed by a number that most of us wouldn't find it worthwhile to remember (1,048,576 bytes to be exact).
