Razer, the world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, today announced its partnership with FISE as the Official Audio Sponsor of the international action sports contest and festival. The event, slated May 16 through May 20, attracts hundreds of world-class athletes—skateboard, BMX, freestyle mountain bike and wakeboard—to Montpellier in the south of France for five days of televised competition, demos and festivities.

“Competitive action sports athletes play videogames a lot; they demand the same uncompromised quality from their gaming equipment that they do from their bikes and boards; and we make the world’s most advanced systems, hardware and accessories for competitive gamers—FISE is a cool way to connect those cross-cultural dots and product needs,” says Razer Chief Gamer & CEO Min-Liang Tan. “Our headphones and portable speaker systemsare particularly hot with riders for both gaming and music—they are a universe above the crap that floods the mainstream market—hence the Audio Sponsorship of FISE. It’s the least we could do for our game-loving, audiophile, athlete friends.”

Razer will cap-off the opening day of the 16th Annual FISE with a “Green Evening” party at the Irish Corner, featuring traditional Irish libations and green adult beverage concoctions, with a mellifluous backdrop of deep, sexy beats provided by local house legend, DJ Fanfou.

On the ground at FISE, Razer is the main sponsor of the BMX park, host of the high-jump tower and purveyor of music entertainment from the Razer DJ-Tower. Additionally, the Razer booth will be churning raffles, handing-out swag and hosting athlete signings.  Razer Gaming Zones in the Red Bull Riders Zone and the FISE Amateur Riders Zone are also in-store, providing safe havens where athletes can relax while killing zombies, crashing cars, destroying worlds and catching-up on sleep.

“Razer is a great partner for FISE as a gaming brand that also makes incredible audio products, and we just had to bring them in for our athletes and spectators,” says Olivier Pascal, development manager, Hurricane Action Sports Company. “The Razer crew like to have a good time, they bring the fun wherever they go, and we definitely appreciate their obsession with product innovation and maximizing the quality of experiences.”

Razer is also taking an active part at the event by sending BMX riders Daniel Wedemeijerand JB Peytavitto compete along with freestyle MTB rider Anthony Villoni. Additionally, a contest is running through May on the Razer France Facebook page (www.facebook.com/razerfrance) and on the FISE website, offering entrants chances to win Razer Electra headphones.
