London, UK, 3rd March 2009- Paragon Software Group (PSG), the technology leader in innovative data security and data management solutions, today announced the release of NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0. Including the new MacBrowser for Windows, NTFS for Mac® OS X provides a unique complete solution and creates an effective two-way communication channel between Mac® OS X and Windows. Effectively the user gets two products in one: browse contents, read and modify files, copy and create new files and folders on both file systems with both operating systems!
Paragon NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0 driver is based on unique Paragon Technology - the Universal File System Driver (UFSD). UFSD was specially developed by Paragon Software to provide full access (read/write, format, etc.) to volumes of the popular file systems (NTFS, FAT, Ext2/3FS etc.) under various platforms (DOS, Windows, Linux and Mac®) when these file systems are not supported.
Paragon's NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0 is easy to install. The drivers are easily installed under both Mac® and Windows through user-friendly wizards, the way software is usually installed under each operating system. No additional configuration is required after installation. Just restart your computer and let it go to work for you!
NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0 is easy to use. Under Mac® OS: After installation every Windows partition works like a native Mac® partition! Mount any NTFS partition like a native one - no need to perform special commands to get access - just attach a disk drive or removable media formated as an NTFS partition and the user can utilize as they wish. Under Windows® : After the user has installed the utility, they can use a special unmapped folder in "My Computer" to browse contents, read and modify files, copy, create, open and delete files and folders on Mac® partitions from Windows. If the user needs to modify a file from a Mac® volume, they would copy it to a Windows partition first, make their changes, and copy it back to Mac® after the modifications are done.
Paragon's brand new MacBrowser and improved performance are key reasons to upgrade to NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0. The MacBrowser is a unique tool to browse contents, create new files and folders, read, modify and copy files on Mac® volumes via a special folder in Windows. You get fast, easy and transparent read/write access to Mac® partitions from Windows. NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0 has an unprecedented high level of performance for Windows volumes with the same transfer rate as with the native Mac® OS file system.
With NTFS for Mac® OS X 7.0, the user can optionally boot Windows at their next system restart: the user can choose their Windows volume in the Mac® "System Preferences" pane to start it up the next time they launch their system.
Key Features include:
- Full read/write access to NTFS. Mac® OS X only provides "read" access to NTFS partitions. Paragon NTFS for Mac® OS X provides full read/write access -- besides reading files you can also modify existing files, delete files, create or copy new files.
- Easy to install. The driver is easily installed through a user-friendly wizard, the way it is usually done under Mac® OS X.
