Better Support for Recovery to Dissimilar Hardware. Free Update is Available to Drive Backup Pro and Hard Disk Manager 2009 Suite Users.
Paragon Software Group (PSG), the technology leader in innovative data security and data management technology, today announced the availability of the new generation of Adaptive RestoreTM. Originally Adaptive Restore was designed to support operating system migration/recovery to dissimilar hardware whilst preserving the original operating system settings, setup and application and dramatically reducing disaster recovery times. This component is offered as a part of Paragon Software imaging products such as Drive Backup Pro and Hard Disk Manager 2009 Suite. Paragon Software's powerful new Professional Adaptive Restore technology allows you to restore operating systems and data on a wide range of different desktop and server hardware or even to a virtual machine.
Paragon Adaptive Restore is a powerful tool for system migration that can help you easily migrate a Windows based system to a virtual environment (P2V) of a major virtualization software vendor, no matter if it's currently online or being backed up with Paragon software. Paragon Adaptive Restore modifies system files in the way that allows a system to successfully boot on a new hardware configuration by adjusting HALs, storage drivers and other device drivers if necessary. It detects the operating system installed on your bootable hardware and prompts it to add missing device drivers. The most important system settings will also be patched to make the system bootable on a new chipset or a new processor generation.
AR comes as Windows Installer and additional as bootable Live-CD Image based on WinPE 2.1 and is available free if you buy or own a current version of Drive Backup Professional/Server or Hard Disk Manager Suite/Server. Simply download the installer and the image from your "MyAccount."
Key Benefits of Paragon Adaptive Restore:
Complex System Migration
Paragon Adaptive Restore is a complete solution for migrating a Windows based system (any edition since Win2K) to a different hardware environment, either physical (P2P) or virtual (P2V). This operation will be as easy and seamless as never before.
Virtualization for Backup Purposes
Creating a virtual clone of your physical system and saving it on a network share can be a real alternative to traditional disk imaging, as in case of a hardware failure, you will still be able to work with your applications in a virtual environment on any other computer until your own PC is repaired - that's what the traditional backup lacks.
Provide for Business Continuity
Migrating your servers to virtual hardware can help you provide for increased availability of hardware and applications.
Use Available Resources to the Full
Virtualization will help you forget about obvious underutilization of your more up-to-date powerful servers.
Cut Capital Costs of Your Business. Make It Green
Virtualizing your computer environment will let you considerably cut expenses on hardware, reallocate IT personnel, as well as decrease energy costs by 80%. This will make your business efficient and green.
Recover Ability to Boot Operating System After Unsuccessful Migration
Paragon Adaptive Restore will help you recover the operating system's startup ability after an unsuccessful system virtualization with a 3rd party tool. It also enables you to make a physical Windows-based system bootable on different hardware.
Paragon Software provides Adaptive RestoreTM component as a free download to all registered customers of imaging products - Drive Backup Professional and Hard Disk Manager 2009.
