'Ingenuity in a Business Application Solution'
APP DEVELOPERS, WIN THE NEW PANASONIC TOUGH TABLET WORTH $2000.00
Meme Apps and The Barcode Warehouse announced their collaboration in sponsoring the 2011 Global Developer Challenge for ‘Ingenuity in a Business Application Solution’. The new mobile developer competition recognises and rewards development innovation from the Meme IDE™ beta community. It challenges developers to build a unique business utility application; developers will then have the opportunity to win a fabulous prize, the latest Panasonic TOUGH Tablet which combines ground breaking ergonomics, rugged design and outstanding performance.
“We are asking developers to use the Meme IDE™ beta to create a business utility,” said Simon Monk, CTO Meme Apps.
“We are really keen to see what developers can achieve with Meme IDE™ beta, so let your imagination run riot.
“This could be anything, from an expenses recording App to a To-do list App or even a currency converter.
“The App may be connected to a server using HTTP requests or stand-alone. It should ideally be designed for Windows Mobile and Android, but we will welcome Apps from just one platform.”
“Mobile applications need to be easily accessible to a wide variety of business users,” said Clive Fearn Director, The Barcode Warehouse.
“Panasonic’s rugged Tablets and PDAs have gravitated, as they are widely used to support the workforce; the notion that developers can now build and deploy business apps rapidly on a variety of platforms, using a simple syntax, and a ‘drag and drop’ GUI, inspired us to sponsor this competition.”
The judging panel consists of Clive Fearn, Sales Director, The Barcode Warehouse, Simon Monk, CTO, Meme Apps. The App will be judged on the basis of:
There has been a rapid increase in the adoption of mobile business applications. The benefits and ROI are transparent; increased productivity, reduced overhead costs and greater customer satisfaction. The 2011 competition ‘Ingenuity in a Business Application Solution’ is designed to reduce the complexity of building mobile business applications and successfully deploy them on a variety of mobile devices.
Meme IDE™ beta is unique, it’s not HTML5 based unlike other SDKs, and uses a less composite programming language, ‘Meme Script™’, which allows developers to generate native apps that can be easily deployed on WM 6.5, and Android, with iOS and Blackberry arriving soon, the key business platforms.
To enter the competition developers must first go to the competition page of www.memeide.com to register. Once registered, developers will be sent the submit link for their finished Apps deployment files.
The competition will be closed at 5pm PST: September 26, 2011
The winner will be announced by Simon Monk October 9, 2011 @ Android Open Conference, San Francisco
